Edulink is a social network for university students ("the app", "we", "us"). These terms apply when you use it. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy.
Edulink is for university students. You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Be honest about who you are: do not pretend to be someone else, and do not claim to attend a university that you do not.
Give accurate information when you register, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has got into it.
You choose a username when you sign up. Don't pick one that pretends to be another person or the Edulink team, and don't use one that is offensive. We may change or remove a username that breaks this rule.
You can post, comment, join communities and take part in their Rooms, follow people, add friends, and message other members. What you share is seen by other people, so think before you post.
You own what you post, including posts, comments, messages, images and voice notes. By posting it in Edulink, you give us permission to store it, display it to other users as the app is designed to, and make copies as needed to run the app. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies that need a short time to clear from our systems.
Only share content that you have the right to share, and do not share other people's private information without their permission.
To keep Edulink safe for everyone, you must not post or send:
Do not try to break, overload or get around the app's security, and do not collect other users' information.
You can send a direct message to any member. Do not use that to send unwanted, repeated or abusive messages. We may limit how many messages you can send to someone who has not replied yet. Anyone can block you or report you, and a person who has blocked you will not be able to message you.
Edulink shows scores and labels such as Clout, game ranks and a GitHub streak. They are for fun and recognition and have no cash value. Clout and ranks are assigned by our reviewers or earned through activity, and we may change or remove them, for example to correct a mistake or when someone breaks these rules. A GitHub streak and stats appear only if you link your GitHub account, and they are based on public information from GitHub.
You can report any post, comment, message or person from inside the app, and block people you do not want to hear from. We review reports, and we aim to do so within 24 hours. Posts, comments, Room messages, community names, bios and usernames may also be checked automatically for words that are not allowed, and may be stopped before they are posted. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, and we may do so without notice where we think it is needed to protect people. If you think we made a mistake, email us and we will look again.
Edulink can show previews and players for links to other platforms such as Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Netflix, and can link to your GitHub account. That content belongs to those platforms and their users, and their own terms apply when you use it. We are not responsible for it.
We cannot check that people are who they say they are. If you meet someone you got to know on Edulink, take care: meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and trust your instincts. If anyone makes you feel unsafe, report them to us and, if you are in danger, contact the local authorities.
On some devices, Edulink shows ads, provided by Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the products or content that advertisers promote.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account actions → Delete account, or by following the steps on our account deletion page. We may also end or suspend your account as described in section 8.
We work to keep Edulink running, but we provide it "as is". We cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the app, from content or messages that other users post, from people you meet through it, or from things outside our control.
We may update these terms. If we make an important change, we will ask you to agree again in the app. Continuing to use Edulink after a change means you accept it.
